DEEP & DARK LIPS....

Posted on 12 October 2016

What’s on trend this season?

This season is all about the deep berry tones. This sumptuous dramatic look could be seen on all of the major catwalks from Louis Vuitton to Marni. This striking look is versatile with the popular shades ranging from blood reds, to deep berries to even black.

What’s my Shade?

Finding the right shade for your skin tone can be crucial to making a look when it comes to dark hues on lips.

Fair Skin with cool or pink undertones should choose a
lip shade with more warm and red hues over purples, browns or blacks.

Olive and dark skin with golden undertones should go for a dark shade with a cooler blue base such as purples, browns and blacks to contrast the skin town and accentuate the lips.

Matte or Gloss?

For this new seasons dark lip try rocking the dark shades with a matte colour during the day, then to make it an evening look add a little gloss to bring out the glossy wine effect.

How to apply!

  • After exfoliating and moisturising your lips, start by applying lip liner. Trace the outline of your lips with a deep shade lip liner, for a fuller lip, push the boundaries of the liner a little further than your natural outer lip line.

We have nine delectable matte lip liners for you to chose from! Be bold and try our No.9 Plum - Lip Liner!

  • When applying the lipstick make sure that you hold your lips taut and apply evenly otherwise cracks in the colour will show when you smile.
  • Lastly after applying the lipstick make sure to tidy the look up by blotting off the excess onto some tissue. Not only does this clean it up a little but also presses the colour into your lips more, sealing it and giving you a longer lasting colour!
